ESCANABA - Judith E. Rogers, 75, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2014, at her home in Escanaba.

Judy was born April 2, 1938, in Perkins, Mich., the daughter of Wilbur and Everal (Larson) Oman. She was raised in Rapid River, where she completed her elementary education, before transferring and graduating from Escanaba Senior High School.

Following high school, Judy was united in marriage to George Rogers and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba.

Judy's husband, George, preceded her in death. Judy's hobbies included, gardening, fishing, spending time bird watching and enjoying nature, spoiling her granddaughter Georgia, and in later years, taking trips to the casino.

She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include: son, Robert (Sharon) Rogers of Escanaba, Mich.; daughter, Rhonda (Dan) Shay of Bruce, Wis.; sisters, Elaine Oman of Gladstone, Mich., Lois (Dwayne) Bero of Rapid River, Mich.; granddaughter, Georgia White of Bruce, Wis. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Everal; loving husband, George; brothers, Bill and Stephen Oman; sister, Shirly Dahlke.

Judy's family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Judith E. Rogers will follow visiting hours at 4 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba with Pastor Louis Hague officiating. Luncheon will be announced following funeral services. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Rogers family with arrangements.
