Patrick M. Lippens

GREEN BAY - Patrick M. Lippens, 59, of Green Bay, formerly of Escanaba, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Green Bay.

Pat was born Oct. 10, 1954, in Rock, the son of Henry and Mary (Smith) Lippens. He was raised in Rock and Perkins before moving to Escanaba where he attended and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1972. Following high school, Pat enrolled at Michigan Tech University where he received his certification in the tool and dye trade. Pat worked construction for many years. He was employed at United Painting, in Washington, and for the past 22 years, he owned and operated the "North Star" motel, in Green Bay. Pat's favorite place to be was, "in the middle of nowhere", enjoying the woods, camping, four-wheeling, and hanging out with his buddies. "Always treat others as you want to be treated" was Pat's motto. He was always there to give a helping hand and made people feel like family, not just friends.

In addition to his mother, Mary; Pat is survived by, son, Craig (Jennifer) Hanson of Oregon, Wis.; daughters, Hannah Lippens of Green Bay, Heidi (Larry) Beauchamp of Gladstone; sisters, Diane (Tom) Schowalter of Suring, Wis., Rosemary (Cliff) Doyen of Rock; grandchildren, Rosallie, David, Devin, Lily, Zach, Morgan and Ashley; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by his father, Henry; brother, Paul; and sister, Linda.

Pat's family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Patrick M. Lippens will follow visiting hours at 12 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone, with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Holy Family Church Parish Hall in Flat Rock. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting Pat's family with arrangements.
