LANSING - Elmore E. Eltzroth, 67, died peacefully at home in Lansing on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013. Born in LaPorte Ind., to Porter & Doris (Munzel) Eltzroth. Husband of Cinda (Dickinson) Eltzroth. Graduate of Jackson High School and Michigan State University. Elmore served as a Geologist in the Escanaba Field Office of the Geological Survey Division of the DNR from 1976 to 1980. He and his family have fond memories of their years in Escanaba. Retired from the State Geological Survey. Known for his kindness, loyalty, and puns.
Survived by his wife of 46 years, Cinda; children, Martin (Kelley) Eltzroth, and Billie Joanne Wright (friend Brandon); Grandchildren, Jessica, Katelyn, and Travis; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Budde; brother, Gerald Eltzroth; grandchild, Triston Eltzroth.
A special thanks to his physicians, Ingham County Rehabilitation Center, friends, neighbors, church family, and caregiver Ann Marie. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, Lansing. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday Jan. 3, 2013, and one hour before the Memorial Service at the church.
