Volunteers with the Schoolcraft County Foster Grandparent Program are shown with the 13 shoe boxes they packed as part of the 2013 Operation Christmas Child campaign, an international effort to collect shoe boxes filled with school supplies, health items and toys for children in need around the world. The Lagasco Building in Manistique served as the collection center. In addition to Foster Grandparents, other groups included Scouts, schoolchildren, service clubs, church volunteers, and individuals. Pictured are: front, June Van Ness; back row from left, Carol Porter, Marilyn Ross, Judy Parrish, Leila Thill, and Foster Grandparent Program Director Mary Bunnin. The Foster Grandparent Program is administered by the Menominee-Delta-Schoolcraft Community Action Agency. For information about the program, call 786-7080.
