Firefighters to give away candy canes

December 18, 2013
Daily Press

GLADSTONE - Children in Gladstone should keep an eye out for the fire trucks on Sunday, Dec. 22, between 6 and 9 p.m. The Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department and Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department will walk the streets of Gladstone handing out candy canes to children.

During the candy cane handout, the departments will also be accepting non-perishable food donations to help stock the local food pantries. Residents are asked to have their porch lights on so firefighters know there are children or donations at the home. Residents are asked to have their items ready when they see the fire truck lights.

Donations may also be dropped off at Gladstone Public Safety by Monday at 10 a.m. if the firefighters don't make it to your house.
