Thomas ‘Tom’ Elroy LaCosse

SOUTHLAKE, Texas - Thomas "Tom" Elroy LaCosse, 64, of Southlake, Texas, formerly of Escanaba. passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas.

Tom was born April 4, 1949, in Escanaba, the son of Elroy and Doris (Tomaich) LaCosse. He was raised in Escanaba and graduated from the Escanaba High School. Following high school Tom served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Blickham. They have resided in Okemos, Mich., and Southlake, Texas, for the past 30 years where Tom was the owner and operator of an excavating and construction company. He enjoyed racing late model stock cars and his annual trips to Michigan each summer to enjoy riding his Harley with his brothers and nephews. Tom was also known to his family and friends as "making the best breakfast in town".

Tom is survived by his wife, Dr. Jeanne LaCosse of Southlake, Texas; two sons, Tom and Todd LaCosse, both of Southlake, Texas; very special grandson, Lonnie LaCosse of Southlake, Texas; grandchildren, Derek, Brett, Vanessa and Jessica LaCosse of Okemos, Mich.; four brothers, Richard (Judi) LaCosse of Escanaba, Steve (Alice) LaCosse of Escanaba, Dan (Debbie) LaCosse of Glendale, Ariz., and Gerald (Sue) Guindon of Escanaba; two sisters, Linda (Jim) Norgart of Lake Orion, Mich., and Patti (Tom) Eugate of Gladstone; numerous nieces and nephews and two very special dogs, Angie and Crisse.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great nephew, Logan Johnston.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Tom will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Escanaba.

The LaCosse family is being assisted by the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.
