Hunting season and gas prices

November 22, 2013
Daily Press

Gas prices are going down all over. On the 12th of November, gas was $3.04 in Menominee, $3.15 in Escanaba.

I think the casino had $3.04, also. The national news is talking about the lower gas prices and how it could be under $3 a gallon, nationwide, by Christmas.

All of a sudden the price jumps around here. Menominee $3.24, Escanaba $3.26. Why? Was it a refinery fire in some remote location? Maybe the dreaded "winter blend." It certainly isn't the wholesale prices of gas. Could it be the fact that on the 15th there were hundreds of thousands of hunters in the U.P.? I guess we will wait until December to get the cheaper prices that the rest of the country has.
