Boat theft in broad daylight

November 22, 2013
Daily Press

EDITOR:

To whomever stole the boat from my front yard on Thursday, Nov. 14:

I sure hope you enjoy it. Funny, you knew to bring bolt cutters. Have you been in my yard before? And thanks for tearing up the grass. You must have been in a hurry to leave. I hope you lose sleep at night. I know I have. Just the thought of knowing you can do this in broad daylight makes me worry about what you will do at night.

To the readers:

I live on North 3rd Street in Wells. (Across from Gardens of Rest on the main road behind the Buck Inn). We have a witness who saw the boat in my yard around 2 p.m. and by 4 p.m. it was gone.

The boat was on a trailer and covered.

If anyone happened to be driving by during that time frame and may have seen anything, please contact the Sheriff's Department.
