Volunteering and its surprising benefits

EDITOR:

Many people in Escanaba rely on the essential services and programs the Y offers. But we would not be here to serve our neighbors without the support we receive from our members, volunteers, staff, partners and our community at-large. Their support enables us to not only continue with the work we already do, but help expand our reach to more people in need.

As one of the leading nonprofits for strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Northern Lights Delta Center depends on volunteers to do its vital work so that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has an opportunity to receive the support and guidance to learn, grow and thrive. The Y believes that when people have a place to feel welcome, have someone to encourage them, and opportunities to participate in activities that interest them, they are more likely to identify and achieve their personal goals.

To learn how to join, give or volunteer, contact the Y at (906) 789-0005 or aracine@ymcadelta.org, or visit www.ymcadelta.org for more information.
