Raymond S. Majcher

ESCANABA - Raymond S. Majcher, 61, of 215 South 12th St., Escanaba, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1952 in Detroit, and was the son of Stanley and Sophie (Michalak) Majcher.

Ray worked at AAA until he moved with his parents to Florida in 1976. There he enjoyed riding his moped and helping neighbors. Raymond moved to Escanaba in 2006, was employed at Lakestate Industries, and participated in Special Olympics. His favorite teams were the Detroit Pistons and Red Wings.

He loved going to dances, walking about town, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his family. He is best described, like the show, "Everybody Loves Raymond."

He is survived by: sister, Christine (Kim) Inghram, Gladstone; nephews, Abe, Jason, and Nick; niece, Lia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie, in 2000 and father Stanley in 2013. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 from 3:30 4:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Raymond S. Majcher will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike LeBeau officiating.

Those wishing to offer a memorial in Raymond's honor are kindly asked to consider a donation to the Special Olympics.
