ESCANABA - Beatrice Pauline "Bea" Feldhusen, of Escanaba, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, at the age of 81.
Bea was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Escanaba, the daughter of Harold and Leona (Kaiser) DeLoughary. She was raised in Eustis, Mich., and was a 1951 graduate of the Bark River-Harris School. On June 7, 1952, Bea was united in marriage to Francis Feldhusen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schaffer and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. Fondly referred to as "Auntie Bea or Grandma Bea", Bea worked for many years providing child care at her home and in Escanaba. Bea was a member of St. Joseph St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba. In addition, she volunteered many hours for the Foster Grandparent Bingo Program. Throughout her life, Bea enjoyed knitting, bowling, photography, watching baseball and going to bingo. She was proud to have attained her private pilot's license and enjoyed flying. Bea's vast love for musicals became a tradition within the Feldhusen family. Her example sparked the interest of her son Patrick and only granddaughter, Heather, who are both actively involved in Players de Noc and additional musicals and plays throughout the Delta County communities.
Survivors include son, Patrick (Kathleen) Feldhusen of Escanaba; daughters, Lori (Mike Bartlett) Feldhusen of Vernon, Fa., Rosie Feldhusen of Escanaba; brother, Terry (Rosemary) DeLoughary of Eustis; sisters, Marie (Leo) Neubauer of Marquette, Elorine (Ray) Mott of Perronville, Katy (Leonord) Bower of Eustis; granddaughter, Heather "Feather Farmer" (Jeff) Grimes of Hyde; uncle, George "Sonny" DeLoughary of Escanaba; aunt, Margaret Gadnis of Escanaba; also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Leona; husband, Francis; sons, Michael and Jim "Ringo" Feldhusen; sister, Patricia Szczygiel; brother-in-law, Wally Szczygiel.
Bea's family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Beatrice Pauline "Bea" Feldhusen will follow visiting hours on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Bea will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Escanaba.
