Paige Rochefort, a fourth-grade student at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Manistique, was the winner in the Summer Reading Project. The school's teachers devised a plan to keep their students reading during the summer months. Before school recessed for summer vacation, all students in grades kindergarten through eight were given an assigned reading list and projects to be completed by the first week of the new school year. Projects would be graded and be counted as a reading grade. Also, all students completing their projects would be placed in a drawing for a $100 Walmart gift card. Paige is a student of Auna Oman.
