Dorothy ‘Dot’ E. (Futchik) Beaudrie

GLADSTONE - Dorothy "Dot" E. (Futchik) Beaudrie, 85, of 6227 Westridge Drive, Gladstone, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Dorothy was born April 20, 1928, in Sault Ste Marie, Mich., the daughter of John and Anna (Vargo) Futchik, both childhood immigrants from Czechoslovakia. Dorothy was the youngest of 12 children. She was raised in Sault Ste. Marie, and graduated from Loretto Catholic High School. Dorothy married Thomas (Tom) on Jan. 22, 1949, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her six children and their families. She was an exceptional cook, devoted to a healthy lifestyle, and found pleasure in walking, reading, and visiting with family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Survivors include: son, John (Matilda) Beaudrie of Bentonville, Ark.; daughters, Diane (Marvin) DeMilio of Marquette, Susan Wellman, of Birmingham, Mich., Nancy (Jerry) Eckelberry of Wixom, Mich., Debra (Jeffrey) Stieve of Dewitt, Mich., and Kathryn (Paul) Walters of Gladstone.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Thomas, on Aug. 17, 2012, and her brothers and sisters preceded Dorothy in death.

Dorothy's family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Church Parish Hall. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
