ESCANABA - A 66-year-old Gladstone man accused of sexually abusing two girls in Gladstone, recently pleaded no contest to two counts of criminal sexual conduct involving one of the victims.

Joseph Gordon Grenier Jr. will be sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court on Sept. 23 on one felony and one high-court misdemeanor.

Grenier pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct regarding incidents involving a girl under the age of 13 years in 2012 in Gladstone. The felony carries a maximum sentencing of 15 years in prison.

Grenier will also be sentenced on one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving the same victim between the ages of 13-16 years in 2012 in Gladstone. The high-court misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of two years imprisonment.

In exchange for the two pleas made earlier this month, a separate second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge involving an 11-year-old girl in 2011-2012 was dismissed by the court.

Grenier was arrested May 6 by Gladstone Public Safety. He remains in the county jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond. He was ordered by the court to not have contact with minors.
