ESCANABA - The Escanaba Elks Lodge 354 announce that two local high school seniors were awarded the Michigan Elks $1,000 Most Valuable Scholarship.

Escanaba High School seniors, Quinlan Hillesheim and Perry Uhazie, each were awarded the $1,000 after their applications were moved on to the State of Michigan for judging. Both Hillesheim and Uhazie were in the top six winners at the local lodge and advanced to the U.P. District that were included in the top six to advance to state competition.

Grab your backpack and your textbooks because school is soon to be back in session. Starting Sept. 1, all high school seniors are able to apply for Elks National Foundation scholarships. These scholarships offer students financial assistance throughout college, the chance to reach their goals at their dream schools, and the opportunity to connect to Elks communities on and off campus.
