ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - June N. Heimbach, 90 of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. She was born on a large dairy farm where the family were all musically inclined. Her father was a fantastic fiddle player and her mother played the organ. June played a madolin and later learned to play the organ. One of her brothers also played the mandolin while another played the guitar and one played an accordion. On Saturday nights they could all be found at the Grange Hall in Garden playing music for their neighbors to dance to.
Upon graduation from college, June became a school teacher. Eventually she moved to Seattle, Wash., where she worked in Boeing Aircraft Factory as an inspector. She met and married Walter (Walt) Heimbach and they moved to Venezuela where she taught school. After some time, they bought a dairy farm in Colby, Wis., and lived there until her husband Walt died in 1990. She then sold the farm and moved to Zephyr Shores Estates in Zephyrhills, Fla., to be with family that wintered there.
June was a very active person and loved to travel and go on cruises. After she retired from farming, she enjoyed working for Sunshine Travel Agency for several years and really enjoyed traveling with them on their trips. She was active in the clubhouse helping in the kitchen and working with Bingo. She like playing cards, marbles, swimming, bowling, playing bingo and riding her bike. June was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zephyrhills.
