CASTLE ROCK, Wash. - Harlie Jeanee' DesArmo, 15, of Castle Rock, Wash., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, as a result of a car/pedestrian accident. Harlie, daughter of Jeff and Jennifer (Good) DesArmo, was born on April 2, 1998 in Ishpeming, Mich. Prior to moving to Washington last year, Harlie lived in Kimberly, Wis., since 2000.
To know Harlie was to love her and laugh with her. She was the light of every room she walked into. Her sense of humor and love for life showed in every step she took in life. As a freshman, Harlie received her athletic letter in basketball, volleyball and track. She was also involved in traveling softball. She was a strong competitor and loved her teammates and coaches. Harlie joined any club she could from sports all the way to cribbage, she just loved being with friends and family. Harlie was an honor roll student at Castle Rock High School and was chosen to be Class President for 2013-2014 school year.
Harlie had a strong faith in God and was very proud to be part of youth groups and church. She was an active member in Fellowship Christian Athletes and completed a mission trip to Idaho with her church youth group. Harlie often quoted the bible when faced with challenges in life.

Harlie was an active novelist and had already written two novels. While attending Kimberly Schools, she traveled to NYC and interviewed firefighters and people affected by 9-11 and wrote a novel showcasing their experiences. Even as a freshman, Harlie knew she wanted to attend college at Notre Dame and become a child psychologist.
Harlie is survived by her parents, Jeff and Jennifer (Jackson-Good) DesArmo of Castle Rock; her sisters, Chelsea (Sam) Warning of Bremerton, Wash., and Courtney DesArmo of Castle Rock; one brother, Bryce DesArmo of Castle Rock; her Grandparents, Dick and Judi LaCosse of Escanaba, Francis and Audrey DesArmo of Munising, Craig and Patti Jackson of Bark River, John and Beth Good of Rock; great-grandmothers, Angeline LaMarche of Escanaba, and Genevieve Jackson also of Escanaba; aunts, Nicole Good of Escanaba, Coreen (Boris) Martysz of Marquette, Amie Krueger of Marion, Wis, Kristie (Jeff) Latsch of Escanaba; uncles, John (Lisa) Kositzky of Gladstone, Brad (Jessica) Jackson also of Gladstone. Also survived by many cousins and close friends, who will all miss her laughter.
She was proceeded in death by great-grandparents, Lawrence LaMarche, William and Irene Peura, Joe and Ann DesArmo and Myron Jackson; also cousins, Dylan Goke and Jalyn Jo Krueger.
Funeral Services for Harlie Jeanee' DesArmo will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2218 East Kessler Blvd, Longview, Wash. 98632 on Sunday Aug. 25, 2013. Visitation will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Pacific Time with Services being held at 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Family and friends in Wisconsin and Michigan are invited to attend a memorial service with live feed from Washington. This memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 601 S Washington St. Combined Locks, Wis., Sunday, Aug. 25, at 5:30 p.m. (CST).
The family is asking everyone to wear bright, vibrant colors in honor and celebration of Harlie's bright and colorful life.
