Grace Marie Korntved

She is survived by four sons, Tom (Jan) Korntved of Menominee, Bob Korntved of Escanaba, Daniel (Susan) Korntved of San Diego, Calif., Jim (Jane) Korntved of Prunedale, Calif.; a daughter, Jane Korntved (Kurt Crawford) of Bark River. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews.

Grace always had room for one more new recipe in her kitchen and on more person at her table. She brought love and joy to her family and friends through her delicious food or her gifts of beautiful crocheted items. They were given in a time of need, for a special occasion or "just because."

Her many jobs through the years had a common thread, caring for others. One of her favorite jobs was working at Bridgewood Adult Foster Care Facility where the residents called her "Grandma." To many others, she was simply "Ma Korntved."

After her retirement, she had more time to go to the casino and to play bingo at St. Thomas and the VFW with her friends of all ages. She loved that!

Grace exemplified a life well-lived. A testament to that is the overwhelming love and support she received during her recent illness.

The family is grateful to everyone who brought comfort to Grace during the past weeks. We especially wish to thank two amazing women, Michele Seymour and Cyna Trudeau, for their steadfast friendship.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. (EDT) on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, 2200 Ludington St., Escanaba, Mich. 49829. Funeral services celebrating the life of Grace Marie Korntved will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Debby Bergeon officiating.

Following the service, a luncheon in honor of Grace's life and a time of fellowship will be held at the Carpenters Hall, 1219 1st Ave., S., Escanaba.

If you would like to, but it's certainly not mandatory, please bring a dish to pass. As a tribute to Grace, you may wish to consider preparing a recipe from your Amazing Grace Cookbook. If you don't have a copy, a limited number of her cookbooks will be available at the celebration. Or, please feel free to make one of your favorite recipes.

Grace loved flowers but a memorial donation to the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Escanaba would also be in keeping with Grace's generous spirit.

Online condolences to the Korntved family may be expressed at: www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Rest Cemetery.

"Good bye, Grandma. Fly with the angels and dance with the stars. We love you..."
