Dennis L. Therrien

ESCANABA - Dennis L. Therrien, 67, of 1600 S. 30th St., Escanaba, passed away Tuesday Aug. 6, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. He was born March 21, 1946, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the son of Floyd and Edith (Bajanan) Therrien. Denny graduated from Escanaba High School in 1964. After high school he worked with his father at Y Walk Motors in Bay View, moved to Milwaukee for a few years before moving back to Escanaba to work back with his father again.

He married the former Christine DuPont on May 17, 1975, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Denny was then employed for 34 years as a car salesman for Riverside Auto Sales until his retirement. After his retirement he went back to work as the sales manager for the Riverside Auto Budget Lot and most recently worked for Nyman's Signs selling advertising. He was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church and he enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing pool.

Dennis L. Therrien is survived by: his wife, Christine; three sons, Jason (Lynn) Therrien of Vicksburg, Mich.,

Jeremy Therrien of Escanaba, Jonathan Therrien of Escanaba; four grandchildren, Tyler, Trisha, Val and Grayson; two sisters, Sharon (Robert) Gough of Lomira, Wis., and Marilyn Sittman; one brother, Dwayne Therrien of Goose Creek, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Thomas Therrien, and brother, Floyd Therrien.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Dennis L. Therrien will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Doletzky officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
