Ruth I. Ring

CORNELL - Ruth I. Ring, 90, of 3003 Truax 24th Road, Cornell, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Eastwood Nursing Home in Negaunee, Mich. She was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the daughter of Edward and Alina (Carlson) Forsman. The former Ruth I. Forsman married John O. Ring on Nov. 7, 1942, in Green Bay, Wis., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2001. Ruth would run the family farm in Cornell when John was away for work and she enjoyed working in the fields, canning apples, selling eggs and mowing the grass. She was a super clean person and people would always say her floors are so clean you could eat off them. Ruth was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, ironing and being outdoors. She also played the piano at services at the Methodist Church in Cornell.

Ruth I. Ring is survived by: daughter, Mary Lou (Michael) Stefanski of Gwinn; son, Fred Ring of Cornell; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Ralph Forsman, and daughter, Charlotte Ring.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth I. Ring will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Rell Spickerman officiating. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
