SPALDING - Napoleon and Joanne LaBonte recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. After a cruise through Powers-Spalding in a 1930 Ford Model A, they joined their family at LaBelle's Inn for a dinner in their honor.
Napoleon and the former Joanne LaCousiere were married on June 5, 1948, at St. Mary's Church in Hermansville. Attending the couple were Mae and Angelo St. Juliana and Gwen and Melvin Gulseth.
Napoleon and Joanne reside in their home in Spalding where they raised nine children: Renee (Duane) Faust of Cross Plains, Wis.; Michael (Lennea) LaBonte, Dale (Mary) LaBonte, Kevin (Sheri) LaBonte, all of Spalding; Cheryl (Russ) Pirlot of Wilson; Michelle LaBonte of Whiteboro, N.Y.; Lynette (Lindsey) Williams, Patrick (Debbie) LaBonte, both of Hermansville; and Keith LaBonte of Daggett. Napoleon and Joanne have 26 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

The couple are members of St. John Neuman Church and remain active volunteers in the community. Joanne enjoys gardening, cooking, baking and canning for her family. They are avid sports fans, and enjoy every chance they get to attend functions for their grandchildren, who all say they feel blessed to have them in their lives.
