Henry B. Bosworth

RAPID RIVER - Henry B. Bosworth, 96, of Rapid River, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Henry was born in Kenton, Ohio, the son of Cecil and Olive (Harrall) Bosworth. He was raised in the Clare, Mich., area and graduated from Clare High School in 1934.

Henry served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 until the end of World War II. In April 1945 he married the former Dorothy Marshall in Washington D.C. They moved to Gladstone where they made their home for the next 39 years before moving to Stonington.

He was employed at Harnischfeger Corp. for 27 years and retired from there in 1979. He was a member of Stonington's Trinity Lutheran Church.

After retirement they spent their winters in Florida where he played keyboard in the retirement parks band.

Survivors include is brother, James of Spring Arbor, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law, Kate and Bernice Marshall.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Dorothy; he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Orren, Norman, Paul; and sister, Doris Cotton.

Henry's family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Henry B. Bosworth will follow visiting hours at 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone, with Diane Srutowski LLM of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonington officiating. Henry will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
