ESCANABA - Airline service at the Delta County Airport provided by Pinnacle Airlines is back to normal following an issue with the airline's weather forecasting certifications.
According to Delta County Airport Manager Kelly Smith, all incoming and outgoing Escanaba flights were grounded from last Tuesday through Thursday afternoon.
The issue was with Pinnacle Airlines' weather forecasting manual, which had expired and needed to go through a recertification system for approval. The Federal Aviation Administration cancelled Pinnacle flights until their weather forecasting certifications had been submitted and approved, said Smith.
The issue also impacted the Sault Ste. Marie Airport. Smith said flights at the airport have since returned to normal.
