Antone Desire ‘Tony’ Lanaville

ESCANABA - Antone Desire "Tony" Lanaville, 90, 825 S. 26th St., Escanaba, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013, at his home of natural causes.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1922, in Hermansville, son of David and Celina (Wery) Lanaville.

On Dec. 29, 1951, Antone married Elzaddie Marie Belongie in Gladstone. She preceded him in death April of 1999.

Antone worked for Busy Bee Restaurant and the Forest Service.

He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church.

Antone was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his children, Alfred D. (Pam) Lanaville, Sr. of Green Bay, Betty J. (Howard) Willyard of Brampton, Lucille (David) Jolly of Gladstone, Ruth A. Metor of Escanaba, and Peggy L. Thames of Kaukauna, Wis.; 19 grandchildren, Katherine Brooks, Kevin Lanaville, Paula Lanaville, Anthony Lanaville, Butch Lanaville, Ginny Taylor, Robert Willyard, Joanne Molye, Cathy Seger, Cindy Luukkenon, David Dahn, Robert Metor, Jr, Rachel Helgemo, Josh Lanaville, Greg Perez, Lyan Perez, Arista Thames, Anna Thames and Noah Thames; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Bilha Lanaville of Ashville, N.C.; and brother, Mose Lanaville of Goldsboro, N.C.

Antone was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Elzaddie; children, Paul and Joanne; brothers, John, Henry, and Merlin; and sister, Marie.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 3 p.m. with Pastor Darren Kelsey from Berean Baptist Church officiating.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Lanaville family.
