Kathryn A. ‘Kate’ Rosado

GLADSTONE - Kathryn A. "Kate" Rosado, 75, of Gladstone, formerly of Bloomington, Ill., passed away Friday evening, July 12, 2013, following surgical complications at the University of Michigan Hospital, in Ann Arbor.

Kate was born April 25, 1938, in Manistique, the daughter of Leslie James and Marie (McMillan) Marks. She was raised in Manistique and attended the Manistique schools. Kate eventually went on to achieve her Registered Nursing degree from Mennonite School of Nursing and was employed at various healthcare facilities throughout her nursing career.

On Feb. 2, 1980, Kate was united in marriage to Jose R. Rosado, in Maywood, Ill., and together the couple resided in Bloomington, Ill. until moving to Gladstone in 2003. Throughout their marriage, Kate continued working as an RN, finally retiring from Schoolcraft County Health Care Systems in 2010.

Kate was a member of the Grace Church in Gladstone. She enjoyed taking car rides and spending time at "Dutch Mill." In addition, Kate loved to play bingo and go to the casino. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include sons, Bob (Regina) Poore of Rock and David Joslin of Gladstone; daughters, Roberta (Steve Mustapich) Welch of Gladstone and Akima Rosado of Gladstone; best friend and daughter, Linda (Gil) Tryan of Gladstone; brother, James (Beverly) Marks of Manistique; sisters, Jean (Carl) Louis of Thompson, Phyllis Nedeau of Manistique. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kate was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marie; loving husband, Jose; daughter, Laurie; and son, Michael.

Kate's family will receive friends on Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Kathryn A. "Kate" Rosado will follow visiting hours on Friday, at 3 p.m., at Grace Church in Gladstone, with Dr. Steve Patrick officiating. Luncheon will follow in the Grace Church Fellowship Hall.
