A replica of the World War II Iwo Jima Memorial was one of the features at Thursday's Fourth of July Parade in Gladstone. The memorial, built by a man (now deceased) from the Keeweenaw Peninsula, is making the rounds of veterans events throughout the Upper Peninsula, and was brought to the local area by members of the Marine Corps League Detachment 444 of Delta County. Pictured with the memorial are members of the League's Color Guard, from left, Commandant Art Menard, John Jamison, Art Ybarra, and Larry Stier.
Foster Grandparents showed off their patriotic spirit at the parade.
Boy Scout Troop 466 of Gladstone is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
