FORD RIVER - Susan Marie Lefever, 65, of Ford River went gracefully and peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 29, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Escanaba, and was the daughter of Charles "Chuck" and Gloria (Birch) Buntjer. Susan graduated from Rapid River High School in 1966 and then worked as a nurse's aide in Hermansville.

The former Susan Buntjer married Leonard Luchay in 1967 and they lived in Perronville until they moved to Las Vegas, Nev., in 1976. In 1978 Susan married Don Lefever and moved to Gladstone in 1986. She then worked as a waitress at the Dew Drop Caf for 16 years and then worked at Northwoods in home care until her retirement because of health reasons.

Susan was a member of the Ford River Community Chapel and she enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, fishing and vacationing in Florida. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Susan was a social butterfly and love to care for and hold babies.
