ESCANABA - Flights at the Delta County Airport are back on schedule this morning after an equipment breakdown that happened Friday.
According to Airport Manager Kelly Smith, the Federal Aviation Administration's Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS), a weather reporting system used at the airport, had a dew point and temperature fan broken that needed replacing. The part for the system has since come in and has been installed.
Due to the breakdown, airlines diverted their flights to Marquette Friday and through the weekend, aside from one flight Friday afternoon that was diverted to Traverse City.
Smith said everything has been back up and running since 10 a.m. this morning.
