OCALA, Fla. - Joyce (Posenke) Nichol, 82, former Escanaba resident, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla. She was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the daughter of John and Zella (ONeal) Posenke. Joyce attended Escanaba High School and later married Robert Nichol on Dec. 17, 1949. Together they lived in Marquette, Tustin, Mich., the Detroit area and after retirement they moved to Florida. Joyce enjoyed doing ceramics and collecting precious moments figurines.
Joyce (Posenke) Nichol is survived by son, Robert (Debra) Nichol of Fenton, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (Louis) Brunette of Gladstone and Pat Deneau of Rapid River; son-in-law, Robert Reske of Ann Arbor, Mich.; sister-in-law, Lorraine Posenke of Albion, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughter, Debra Nichol Reske; sons, Stephen Nichol and Randy Nichol; sister, Esther Dagenais; brothers, Lawrence, Ormal and Wallace Posenke.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Joyce (Posenke) Nichol will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Doletzky officiating. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Oaks Restaurant in Gladstone.
