GLADSTONE - A celebration of the past of First Lutheran Church in Gladstone will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, in the church's fellowship hall. A brunch will be served and all are invited to come and share their own memories, information and knowledge of the congregation's past.
It is hoped the information that is gathered will be vital as the congregation moves toward the future. This is a time of transition as the church prepares for the calling of a new pastor and the celebration of the congregation's 125th anniversary in 2015. Senior members, as well as former members are especially welcome to take part and to share the roles they played in shaping the congregation as it exists today.
"Please mark your calendars and make a special effort to join us for this very important event," said member Sally Pouliot. "We are planning what we hope will be a very nostalgic and fun event to look at our past as it relates to our congregational, local and world events. We anticipate this event will help us as we look to shape our congregation's future knowing that, with God's help we are 'Always being made new.'"
For more information or to share input concerning this event, contact Pouliot at 428-4431 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Those unable to attend are encouraged to send a written comment. Sign up for the brunch in the church narthex or by calling the church office at 428-4565.
