ESCANABA - Marsha Lynn (Juchemich) Green, 64, of Escanaba, and former Negaunee resident, died Tuesday evening, April 16, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a courageous battle with cancer.
Marsha was born May 3, 1948, in Ishpeming, to Roland and Shirley (Nelson) Juchemich. She graduated from Negaunee St. Paul High School and went on to earn her master's degree at Northern Michigan University while working in the office of the Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney. Marsha served as the director of the Delta Menominee Schoolcraft Head Start program. She also served as Delta County treasurer and was on the U.P. State Fair Board of managers. Marsha previously owned and operated the Den of Antiquity shop. Most recently she was known for her quilts and fabric art, her art glass and other crafts.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Nino Green; three stepchildren, Joseph Green of Vernon, Mich.; Leah Belanger of San Antonio, Texas; Naomi Green of Lansing, Mich.; four grandchildren, Jacob and Aaron Stewart of San Antonio, Texas; Alex Green of Lansing, Mich.; and Michael Boucher; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; mother, Shirley Juchemich of Negaunee; sister, Donna (David) Danielson of Negaunee; two nieces, Anne Marie (Chris) Benton of Berwyn, Ill., and Sara (Jon) Beckman of Ishpeming; four great-nephews, Luke Benton and Nathan, Zachary and Andrew Beckman; aunts, Jean Nelson and Sandra Larson; uncle, Charles Giotto and many cousins.
Marsha was preceded in death by her father, Roland Juchemich Jr.; special aunt, Priscilla Giotto; and uncle, Clyde Nelson.
Marsha's family and friends are invited to celebrate her memory on June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m., at her home at E5019 Highway M35 in Delta County's Ford River Township. Condolences may be expressed online at koskeyfuneralhome.com.
