Webster students took to the playground in an effort to make their grounds more beautiful by planting a variety of trees. Kindergarten and first grade students helped plant trees in front of their rooms and were given the task to "care and protect" their trees. Students from the Wolverine Club, with the help of staff and their families, planted the rest of the trees around the playground. Hard at work are: from left, Mary Winker, Makenzy Listle, Eila Couchene, Gavin Neumann, Cayden Lyyski (hidden), and his mom, Jennifer Tonge.
In the process of the tree-planting, it is hoped that students will feel a sense of ownership and take pride in their playground and eventually they will enjoy the fruit and shade the trees will provide. Brian Smith prepared the ground for planting, did much of the labor, and guided the students in the planting. He also educated the students on how to plant, how to care and what can be expected in the future from the newly-planted trees. Working on the project are: from left, Cole Crowe, Griffin Erickson, Dustin Bourdeau, unidentified sibling, Hayden Moulds, and Ashton Moran (pouring dirt).
Looking on with pride in their accomplishment are: from left, Ashlee Lacasse (peeking from back), Teigan Dagenais, Marissa Tryan, Anna Lisa Tryan, Kalei Foreman, and Logan Kahl.
