ESCANABA - An Escanaba man accused of robbing a gas station attendant at knifepoint earlier this year reached a plea agreement for a lesser charge in Delta County Circuit Court on Friday.
Marc Allen Grove, 19, of Escanaba, was arrested in January following investigation into a robbery at the Admiral gas station at 720 N. Lincoln Road.
Grove was accused of being masked and armed with a large hunting knife when he allegedly demanded money from a female clerk at 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 20. After receiving cash, he fled on foot to a north-side residence where Escanaba Public Safety tracked him and arrested him.
Grove was lodged in the county jail in lieu of a $150,000 cash bond.
Grove was charged with armed robbery, a life felony, and charged with controlled substance - possession of the analogue Buprenorphine Hydrochloride, a two-year felony.
These two counts, as well as a habitual offender notice, were dismissed Friday in exchange for Grove's guilty plea to one count of assault with intent to rob while unarmed, a 15-year felony.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in circuit court on July 15.
