Making music — EHS orchestra excels in U.P. competition

Escanaba was well represented in this year's Upper Peninsula Youth Orchestra. Of the 66 student musicians, 23 of them were Eskymos. That's almost 35 percent of the group. The students participated this year were: Flute - Lizzy Lynch and Lindsey Norcross; Oboe - Tiffany Stenberg (principal), Taylor Donovan, and Teresa White; Clarinet - Karlene Robich, Tom Simons, Kellie Linderoth, and Kelsey Geyer; Horn - Hannah Moberg (principal), LiAnne Roll, and Jenna Larson; Trumpet - Blake Hereau (principal); Trombone - Ben Zindler (principal); Percussion - Eric Cousineau; Violin I - Kim Kang; Violin II - Sara Marenger (principal), Mariah Burias, Megan Anderson, Olivia Johnson, and Abbey Claes; Viola - Amanda Kuenzl; and Cello - Ryan Timler.
