Preschools from St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Manistique gather around as Rev. Glenn Theoret, St. Francis de Sales Parish pastor, blesses them and their trikes before they took part in a Trike-A-Thon at their school. The youngsters raised a total of $1,496 to help support St. Jude's research and treatment of childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. In the process, the youngsters learned about trike and other riding-toy safety. This annual fundraiser is a week-long program where preschoolers learn riding safety skills through interactive lessons and activities. St. Francis has raised close to $9,000 since it began participating in the Trike-A-Thon in 2008, all made possible with the help and support of family, friends, and parents who make donations and collect pledges.
