Daily Press

ESCANABA - Escanaba Public Safety detectives have taken a man into custody who allegedly burglarized two Subway restaurants here last year.

On Tuesday, detectives executed a felony arrest warrant for a 51-year-old Wisconsin man. The man was picked up from Dodge Correctional Facility in Waupun, Wis., and transported to Escanaba where he was lodged at the Delta County Correctional Facility.

Locally, he is facing felony charges including two counts of breaking and entering with intent, two counts of safe breaking, and a charge of possession of burglary tools. The arrest stems from a December 2012 investigation involving break-ins at two Escanaba Subway restaurants. It is expected that the man will be facing additional criminal charges from various jurisdictions within Wisconsin for similar alleged crimes.

The name of the man is being withheld pending arraignment later today in the Delta County District Court.
