Lenore M. ‘Norie’ Finlan

ESSEXVILLE, Mich. - Lenore M. "Norie" Finlan, 87, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Sheffield Bay. She was born on Sept. 7, 1925, in Escanaba to the late Raymond and Josephine (Elegeert) Johnson. Norie was married to Richard Finlan and he died on Nov. 30, 1994. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, League of Catholic Women and Men, and former member of Essexville Women's Club, a member of the Baptist Bowling League, and loved playing cards with her friends and neighbors.

Surviving are her two children, Michael R. (Nicole) Finlan of Longmont, Colo. and Melanie (Allen) Knack of Parma, Mich.; her grandchildren, Kevin and David Knack, Ashley and Ryan Spencer; five great-grandchildren, Kollin, Karter, Kaitlynn, Elleanor, and Henry.

Besides her husband and parents, Norie was preceded in death by a son, Ricky B. Finlan in 1957; and her sister, Marilyn Arkens.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Joseph Schabel will preside and interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service in the W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
