Ivan L. Sundquist

BARK RIVER - Ivan L. Sundquist, 100, of 4427 D.15 Road, Bark River, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1912, in Bark River, son of Louis and Carrie (Larson) Sundquist. Ivan attended Bark River Sunnyside School. He was a resident of Bark River most of his life.

On April 17, 1937, Ivan married the former May Tweedale in Marinette. She preceded him in death.

For 60 years, Ivan worked as a farmhand, woods worker, and heavy equipment mechanic. He was employed with Bark River Culvert and Equipment Company as a mechanic and service manager, retiring on Jan. 1, 1978.

Ivan was a member of the Bark River United Methodist Church which is served as church trustee and was involved with the church choir.

He was a member of the Bark River Volunteer Fire Department and active with the Senior Center where he was treasurer for many years.

Among survivors include his children, Donna (Rayne) Charboneau of Bark River, Mich., Louis (Carol) Sundquist of Oconomowoc, Wis., and The Villages, Fla., Jill (Adolph) Getzloff of Wilson, Mich., and Jackie (David) Harris of Baraboo, Wis.; and 14 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren; his brothers, Walter, Edwin, Hilding, Ralph, Arthur and Elmer Sundquist; and sisters, Mable Erickson and Ellen Palmgren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River with the funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Christine Bjorkquist officiating. A meal will follow at the Bark River Senior Center.

Burial will be in the Bark River Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stain Glass Window Fund for the Bark River United Methodist Church.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Sundquist family.
