ESCANABA - Karen Lynn Randall, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, age 66, of the Soo Hill/Danforth area, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 7, 2013, while visiting her family in Utah.

Born on Nov. 9, 1946, in Escanaba, Mich., to the late Ferdinand (Fred) and Lena (Duncan) Sebeck of Gladstone, Karen grew up in Gladstone and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Randall, on July 30, 1966. After briefly living in Missouri while Bob finished his military time, they moved back to the Escanaba area, built their home of 43 years where they raised three sons.

Karen attended Bay College to earn an associate's degree in business once her children were grown. She worked many years for Kids Club Daycare nurturing hundreds of the community's little ones. Together Bob and Karen have been helping prepare and serve lunch, to those in need, at the Escanaba Salvation Army. However, it was her life-long love for children that drew her to Lemmer Elementary School, where she volunteered as a reading helper with the "RSVP Program" for the high risk children. It gave her great joy being surrounded with these children, especially since her own grandchildren were great distances away.

Karen and Bob were enjoying retirement. They recently made trips to Mt. Rushmore, Las Vegas, visited family in Texas, and traveled to Phoenix, Ariz., to watch her only grandson play baseball in a USSSA tournament.

Karen was a selfless, kind, gentle and loving women. Her passion was family. The pride she had for her husband, children and grandchildren; Bretton (14), Marisa (13), Abbigail (11) and Athena (2) was beyond words. She cherished every moment and couldn't be more supportive of their sports and dance hobbies.

Karen's hobbies included: going to bingo, playing crossword puzzles, going to hunting camp with her husband and family, playing cards, watching any and all sports, and just being with family. She was loved by all and will be terribly missed by both family and friends!

Karen is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Randall; her sons, Mark (Jacqui) Randall of Oshkosh, Wis.; Kevin (Denise) Randall of West Jordan, Utah; and Jason (T'Pring) Randall of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren; sister, Judy Sebeck; brother, Larry (Susette) Sebeck; in-laws, Linda (Raymond) Mayotte, Mike (Terrie) Randall, Suzanne (Paul) Cole, and Patrick DeBauche; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends of both Bob and Karen are James (Jim) and Kathy Hughes.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ferdinand (Fred) Sebeck; her mother, Lena Sebeck; and her in-laws, Helen DeBauche Robitaille and Theodore (Ted) DeBauche.

Karen's family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
