ESCANABA - Jerry L. Tice, 71, of Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette. He was born Nov. 21, 1941, in Ann Arbor, Mich., and was the son of Robert E. and June L. (Guy) Tice. Jerry graduated from Pioneer High School in 1959 and then served in Germany in the U.S. Air Force until he was honorably discharged. Jerry was employed with Asplundh Tree Trimming Company until he was forced to retire due his illness with Multiple Sclerosis. He lived in Gaylord for many years until moving to Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Jerry was a great man of faith, loved to read his Bible and was an inspiration to all that met him. Jerry was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Red Wing fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, playing slow pitch softball and he played semi-pro football in his younger years.

Tice is survived by: daughters, Robin (Phillip) Grimette of Ypsilanti, Mich., Junelle Tice of Florida; son, Mike (Allyson) Tice of Findlay, Ohio; eight grandchildren; stepmother, Doris Tice of Gaylord, Mich.; brother, Mike Tice of Gaylord, Mich.; sister, Joie Woodard of Montello, Wis.; special friend, Kay Erickson of Gladstone; one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and June Tice.
