An egg-sighting time: Youth gather for Easter hunt

April 1, 2013
Daily Press
The Escanaba New Life Assembly of God Church held its second annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday morning. At top, Halle Wakkur, 4, of Escanaba, is all smiles as she finds an Easter egg hidden in the pile of shredded paper in the preschool room. The event was a success, with 300 children registering to hunt the 6,000 eggs. According to event coordinator Jennifer Brow, candy for the eggs was donated during a month-long drive at the church. A total of 120 prizes were also given away. Lakestate Industries donated two truckloads of shredded paper. About 40 volunteers also contributed to the event.
