St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Manistique recently hosted the Upper Peninsula Community Education Association 2013 Regional Spelling Bee. Participating schools were Manistique and Big Bay de Noc. Eighth-grade winning spellers were: 1st place, Rayna Sherbinow of Manistique; 2nd place, Abby Schwartz of Manistique; and 3rd place, Zach Middaugh of Big Bay de Noc. There was no fourth-place winner.
