MINNETRISTA, Minn. - Jeffrey D. Peterson, 55, of Minnetrista, Minn., passed away on March 4, 2013.
Jeff had a distinguished career as a healthcare executive. Over his career he served as President/CEO, Executive Vice President/COO at a number of healthcare organizations including Mercy Health Partners, St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo and he ended his career as Executive Vice President, Hospital Division, at Allina Health, Minn. Jeff was always proud to say he started his career in healthcare as a dietary utensil sanitizer at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Mich., where he grew up. "That was a fancy title for my work as a dishwasher," he said.
Jeff loved his work. He was a man of integrity who celebrated the accomplishments of everyone. Most of all, Jeff was interested in and enthusiastic about the people around him and the work they did. Jeff also loved the pace and places of healthcare - helicopters, operating rooms, nursing units and emergency response teams.

Jeff earned a master's degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa and a bachelor's degree in business from Western Michigan University. Jeff was a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and an active member of Rotary International. He was also a member of the University of Iowa Health care Administration Alumni Program. In his free time he enjoyed being with his family, golfing, hiking, skiing and attending Iowa Hawkeye football games.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Michele; his triplet sons, Connor, Quinn and S. Kyle Peterson; his parents, Jack and Joan Peterson; his siblings, Michael (Cheryl) Peterson, Jennifer Peterson and Mary Peterson; as well as a large extended family.
A visitation and funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 2385 Commerce Blvd, Mound, MN 55364 on Monday, March 18, 2013. Visitation at 9 a.m., mass at 10 a.m. Cookies and coffee will be provided following the service.
On March 22, 2013, a Celebration of Life will be held at Abbott Northwestern Hospital Education Building Auditorium from 2-4:30 p.m.
