ESCANABA - Investigation continues into several larcenies from motor vehicles in Escanaba, according to city police who responded to a report of someone seen going through a truck early this morning.

A resident reported to police that a male subject was observed rummaging through a vehicle on the 300 block of North 14th Street around 12:40 a.m. today. When police responded to the call, no suspect could be located.

During the past few days, more than a dozen larcenies from motor vehicles have been reported to local police. Several recent incidents occurred in residential areas on the southeast side of town.

Items reported stolen from vehicles overnight Wednesday and Thursday included a fly fishing rod, vest and other equipment worth $1,700, said police who remind residents to secure their valuables and lock their vehicles.

Anyone witnessing suspicious activity is asked to contact Public Safety at 786-5911.
