Auto theft case moves forward

ESCANABA - A Marquette County man was recently bound over to Delta County Circuit Court in connection with driving drunk in a stolen vehicle, leaving an accident, and fleeing from police in Escanaba earlier this year.

Dylan Louis Spencer, 21, of McFarland, remains lodged in jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond. He was arrested on Jan. 27 after leaving the scene of an accident and fleeing in a vehicle and then on foot from Escanaba Public Safety officers.

Spencer is charged with the following five counts: unlawful driving away an auto, a five-year felony; driver fleeing and eluding police, third degree, a five-year felony; assaulting/resisting/ obstructing police, a two-year felony; operating a motor vehicle with a high blood alcohol content, a misdemeanor; and failure to stop at the scene of a property damage accident, a misdemeanor.

Spencer was bound over last week from district court to circuit court where he may go to trial or make a plea.
