DE PERE, Wis. - Rita A. Wery, 90, longtime resident of De Pere, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23. She was born May 28, 1922, to the late Irving and Alice (LeBelle) Sauvey in Green Bay. She graduated from West Green Bay High School in 1941.
On May 31, 1943, Rita married Elmer Wery in Green Bay and together they raised five children and also welcomed five foster children into their home. She was a dedicated volunteer for St. Joseph School, and proudly served as sacristan at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
She is survived by her children, Allan Wery, Jack (Eileen) Wery, Mary Therese (Vaughn) DeVorse, and Carol (Ken) Peterson; daughter-in-law, Pat Wery; son-in-law, George Landolt; close friend, Lori (Ed) Hock; brother, Raymond Sauvey; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; and a daughter, Barbara Landolt.
Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere, from 10 a.m. until the hour of Mass on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
