Fire damages Escanaba home Sunday morning

ESCANABA - A south Escanaba home was damaged in an early morning fire Sunday, Escanaba Public Safety officers said.

The blaze was reported at 2:46 a.m. at 616 South 11th St. The fire was located in the upstairs attic and flames were visible when officers arrived. The fire was extinguished quickly by using fire extinguishers and water.

There was some damage to roof trusses and water damage to the residence. There were no injuries. The fire is still under investigation.

Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by Michigan State Police at Gladstone, Delta County Sheriff's Department and Rampart.
