ST. JACQUES - Richard E. "Tiny" Segerstrom, 68, of 9271 EE.25 Road, Rapid River, passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 12, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born April 4, 1944, in Escanaba, Mich., the son of Algot and Adeline Rose (Turan) Segerstrom. He was raised in Isabella and graduated from Nahma High School, class of 1962. Richard was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Judith Groleau, on Aug. 8, 1964, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Nahma. They made their home on the family farm in Isabella where they raised their five children. They later relocated to St. Jacques in 1993. Judith preceded Richard in death on Sept. 7, 2002.
Richard worked in the woods for Peterson Forest Products and also did construction work for Hebert Construction. Tiny also volunteered for the Michigan State Department of Human Services. He was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Tiny's hobbies included whittling, watching the birds, gardening, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include: sons, Shannon (Patti) Segerstrom of St. Jacques, Mich., Chad (Rachel) Segerstrom of Rapid River, Mich.; daughters, Penny (Glenn) Marenger of Cornell, Mich., Wendy (Richard) Damer of St. Jacques, Mich., and Tara (David Arrowood) Segerstrom of Daggett, Mich.; sister, Geraldine Beauchamp of Livonia, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, Shelby and Paul Segerstrom, Kaylene Bigelow, Kylie (Brian) Johnson and Kelsey Segerstrom, Siera Segerstrom, JJ Pepin, Paige, Vanessa and Dawson Damer, Jersie and Chad Segerstrom Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, his three brothers, Kenny, Charles and Gordon Segerstrom, preceded Richard in death.
The Knights of Columbus will recite a rosary on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Nahma. Visitation will follow from 11 a.m. to noon. Mass of Christian Burial services will follow with Rev. Fr. Antony Lukka officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Nahma Township Hall. Tiny will be laid to rest next his wife at the Moss Lake Cemetery in the spring. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Gladstone and Escanaba are assisting the Segerstrom family.
