BREITUNG TOWNSHIP (AP) - Authorities say they've arrested a 74-year-old man who stabbed a sheriff's deputy in the back at a ski jump tournament.

Dickinson County Sheriff Scott A. Celello says the attack happened about noon Sunday during the Continental Cup Ski Jumping Tournament at Pine Mountain.

The Daily News of Iron Mountain reports that two deputies were patrolling the event and were walking near the club house when the suspect approached them from behind and stabbed one in the upper back.

Celello says the knife was knocked from the suspect's hands and he was arrested.

Authorities say the man wanted to target a deputy but not one in particular. The injured deputy was treated at the scene.
