BUFFALO, N.Y. - Jessica Elizabeth Sauve and Syed Adnan Alli celebrated the beginning of their married life with ceremonies in Buffalo and Lake George, N.Y.
A Muslim ceremony was officiated by Iman Mehdi Chawla at the Jaffarya Islamic Center on July 6 in Amherst, N.Y. The Mehndi was held that evening at The Palms in Williamsville, N.Y. The Shadi followed on Saturday evening at Statler City ballroom in downtown Buffalo. Traditional dance was presented at the reception by a bhangra group from Toronto, Ontario.
One week later the couple exchanged vows in a Christian ceremony at Diamond Point Community Church in Diamond Point, N.Y. The nuptials were officiated by Pastor Stephen Gauger of Rapid River.

Friend of the bride, Savannah Crawley, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Kenton and Christa Calcari, both friends of the bride.
Syed Ali Abbas, brother of the groom, stood as best man. Michael Pawelek and Stephen Makula, friends of the groom, served as groomsmen.
Other members serving at the ceremony were readers, Michael Schroeder, a friend of the groom, and Elizabeth Falcone, a friend of the bride. Huma Tahir, sister of the groom, and Blair Sauve, brother of the bride, seated the guests. Rachel Holm, cousin of the bride, rang the bell.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held on Lake George surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains. Guests were treated to dinner and dancing on the cruise boat Adirondac.
Jessica is the daughter of Brent and Sandra Sauve of Rapid River. She is a 2005 graduate of Rapid River High School and graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in public relations and policy studies. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in economics at Syracuse University.
Adnan is the son of Syed Tahir Raza and Attiya Balqis of Tonawanda, N.Y. He is a 2001 graduate of Sweet Home High School and graduated from Canisus College in Buffalo, N.Y. with a bachelor's degree in computer programming. He currently works as a computer programmer for Yale Law School in New Haven, Conn.
